A Flury of Anniversaries

This is now the eleventh blog I have started. I know that's a lot. Today represents a flury of anniversaries to talk about. First of all there is today. Today is the last day of the D S L extreme offer of one month's free D S L. Everybody should order that. Seven years ago today was an infamous event. On this date in 1999 John Kennedy Jr's. plane crashed in the water off Capt Cod or thereabouts on the way to a wedding. There were Kennedy and Caroline Bisset and her sister on the plane. Now we learn there were outward signs of trouble within minutes of taken off because Kennedy flew into other planes' air space. My guess is he was on drugs. It was perhaps a day or two later on this date in 1969 when Ted "glug glug" Kennedy drove his car off a bridge while drunk killing Mary Jo Kopechmey. On July 18th. 1968 I recorded most of a reel to reel roll of tape in one day- - running two hours. I recorded mostly off a new FM station in Garden Grove, which was K T B T, which played songs which to this day are unique to that station. On this date, July 17th. 1988 I moved into my old apartment where I lived for thirteen years. That was on a Sunday. Also on a Sunday was the Disneyland opening on this date July 17th. 1955. Apparently they had a lot of complications building the park because the water of "the rivers of America" kept absorbing into the ground. Also they didn't have a lot of attractions that first year and they had a real problem with the restrooms. Photographic evidence suggests I myself did not attend Disneyland till the 2nd. year, 1956, when they completed a lot more rides, though I myself always thought I was there the first year.

Well Oliver Stone is doing his rendition of the collapse of the Twin Towers on 9 - 11. I wonder what twist, if any, he is going to put on the movie. Will he say that the government blew up the buildings? I've always wondered why the lower floors of both buildings collapsed. Of course if the lower floors of both buildings had been salvaged you wouldn't be able to get the publicity out of the thing that occurred because far fewer people would have been killed. Also you wouldn't have that big hole in the ground and wonder what memorial to put on the site.

You know sometimes outward signs aren't that bad. I think in some ways being a gang member shows signs of a social reaching out and belonging. In Judaisum the outward sign of the faith is circumcision. Some Black fraternities brand you as an outward sign of belonging. Christianity has baptisum as an outward sign. Though the true "elete" of the Faith hate this because it means that ANYBODY can join it. The "true believers" who run the faith believe only the Elect can be saved and therefore Baptisum as an outward protestation of your Faith is not sufficient. You know that Jesus on K F I was talking about "The spirit of the Law". Well the true Spirit of God's law is that the law is a joy and serving the Lord is a pleasure and brings benefits. Also the covenent is spoken of as an eternal covenent. The "elete" of the faith hate "The law" more than anybody else because THEY alone want to "make up the rules" not only as to who gets in but what standards are "acceptable" according to their word play and verbal accrobatics.

The last two paragraphs were typed just now. All in all it seems as if this month is July is fleeting by. It’s already half over. I’d like to see my bank statement. Leo Le Port talked of laptops overheating. Lap tops have been known to spontaniously burst into flame. I’ve had the name of my next Blog in mind for a month or so. Except I already have ten and everybody else has so much fewer than that.

In case you are wondering about global warming it was above one hundred about everywhere in the continental US yesterday except Chicago was 95. Today they are a hundred. Only Seattle and San Francisco are cool. The statistics are out now for the first six months temperatures in America and it was the hottest six months on record. Also around here we have been above normal every day in the month of July. They say this isn’t normal climate warming because the CO2 makes it warmer at night than it would ordinarily be. Also it’s actually colder in the upper atmosphere because at that level, carbon dioxide behaves differently.

Chris Matthews says that Iran was the big winner of Gulf War II. That ought to be an eye opener. Iran has used the War to step up recruiding region wide. Chris fawned all over Rudolph Juliani saying that the religious right loves him and that the right is no longer going to stand behind their anti gay and anti abortion stance. My response to that is, “When pigs fly”. It will have been seven years since 9 – 11 and as was pointed out, Juliani has done little but make speeches these past five years.

This fire in southern San Barnadino county has gone on for a whole week. A Jeopardy guy is saying the media has moved politics to the right. Many people have stated this recently, that is the left now that has to swim against the tide to be heard. Chris Matthews fell all over himself praising Rudy Juliani last Saturday, saying that he was now the darling of the right and had the nomination all but locked up. It's the old condition fire horse phenominum. They ring the fire bell at the station and the horses are ready to go to the fire. That's the New Right.

Ken Galliger was saying some insane stuff. At four he said he was going to present the case for the collapse of the twin towers in New York being a Bush conspiricy. He didn’t do that, of course. Instead he went on a diatribe about College academics. I turned the thing off about a quarter after. When next I turned the radio on at a quarter five he was talking about something else. Earlier he was talking about cell phones and why they should not be banned. He gave no good reasons for his own pro cell phone position but instead cut off any callers who did constructive examples that disagreed with his position. Dr. Dean Edell said the last castrato died in 1903 and his voice was recorded in 1902. The Catholic church apparently banned the practice long ago but then went and ignored their own ruling.
