Last Minute Thoughts On Campaign 2012
We're moving this posting to the next blog because I forgot. The Media is still playing this whole campaign as a neck and neck horse race with a potential photo finish. Of course the media wants us all to remained glued to our seats in front of the TV sets on election eve. Strangely the first thing we might note is this evolution of the notion of "battleground states" and now it is down to just eight or ten states where all the ads are being shown. Someone pointed out that in JFK verses Nixon, Kennedy campaigned on 49 states and Richard Nixon campaigned in all sixty. It is said that since World War II that ten incumbants have sought reelection and seven of them have been successful. The three who weren't are Jerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and Bush 41. My new friend Jim, a new guy, said that since 1860 and every time November 6th has fallen on a Tuesday, that the Republican has won every time. Thus that would be Abraham Lincoln in 1860, followed by Benjimin Harisson in 1888 and then Mc Kinley in 1900, Hoover in 1928, Eisenhower in 1956 and Ronald Reagan in 1984. That's a pretty long term track record, that I believe will be broken this time out. Jim agrees that "Nobody could have undone all the damage Bush did to this economy in four years". There is a one in three odds of Romney winning the popular vote and Obama winning the electoral vote tally. But what is strange about this race is Romney's strength. People say that Romney crowds are getting larger and becomming more enthusiastic. It's not just "anybody but Obama" like it used to be, but they say that Romney is warming up the all the crowds and visa versa. I wouldn't know. Obama in contrast is having trouble getting an audience at his rallies, and even the Fire Marshals are remarking about the smallness of Obama crowds. The latest poll numbers are Obama 48% and Romney at 47%, There is talk I don't like one bit about "How the President is profetting from Hurricane Sandy to keep his poor performance track record out of the media headlines". There is continuing talk about the President's poor performance in the first debate. The Democrats had one bad debate, but the Republicans have been bettered in the three other debates, but nobody reports that. "Three out of four ain't bad" in my book. But not the medias. People still have this feeling that "Romney is a respectable candidate now" whereas the President is at an inherent disadvantage because in a tied race they claim that "Tie usually is advantage Challenger". As near as I can figure, the media really is trying hard to equate Romney and the President making both seem equally qualified for the Office, when this is the farthest thing from the truth. What has struck me about the race and that KFI guy mentioned it today- - was the poisoned communacation rhetoric where nobody can believe what anybody else says but they "always have to have an angle' and it's my oppinion that a country can't function when the level of Trust and creduilty is so low. People have become so in love with their own Thoughts- - that they are tuning all actual fresh information OUT. Because even most of the Independants are not really indepentant- - but - they may not even know this - they are already in one came or the other. And apparently we are all so deaf and blind that is "our guy" makes an ass out of himself, we will move heaven and earth to deny it. (Selah) I'll tell you what "Moderate' is. A moderate is "information driven". This is why Rush Limbaugh hates moderates. Because Rush loathes the very concept of objective analysis. It was a Mitt Romney aid himself that coined the phrase "This campaign isn't going to be dictated to by the fact checkers".
We now come to the second paragraph, which was written after the one I plan to put underneathe this one already written. When I actually got up this morning we had changed the clocks. I got up at five and turned on that "tin foil hat" program on KFI. This guy combines libertarian civil liberties stuff with this tea party sense of "revolution against an oppressive government". The trouble is this guy and his callers are so utterly inarticulate- - you have to be psychic to understand them because they tail off in sentenses and then start others- - and they start another insane topic before they're done with the last one, like some kind of psychiatric patient on a therapist's couch. There was "documented facts appearing as science fiction" about how the Aliens are among us but they aren't all the same and some are more friendly than others but none of them can be trusted by humans. And "They have some old grudge against the human race they seek to settle from thousands of years ago" or something. Of course there is litteral talk about "tin foil hats" to guard the human brain against their controlling brain wave thoughts. There was talk about how Hurricane Sandy was "directed to an urban center" by this HARP program they have now. Actually Hurricane Sandy was Predicted to hit exactly where it did in New Jersey. Due to all the ice melting in Greenland the jet and Gulf streams were interrupted as currents came to a standstill. So there was a stationary High that didn't belong over Greenland at all that steared the storm to the left into the land. High's rotate clockwise so looking from the south - - the air currents would be going to the west in that part of the current circuit. Capish? Oddly enough the day after the storm hit on the "Ashberry Park home planet" in what they refer to as the Arkturus constellation - - - there was talk about The Tower- - card being changed from Messers Seeger and Springsteen - - because all of the songs for this Card seemed to be about Howard- - - whom we legislated out of existance six or so weeks ago. Mal Evans quelched these roomers and said "No plans were under way to do anything so radical". Of course the Arkturus "System" is not even in the Federation to begin with. The difference between me and the KFI host is that my thoughts are all mapped and planned out ahead of time and I know what I want to say and impart to my audience. But this KFI host has this endless series of inarticulately constructed thoughts that are half baked to begin with and disappear like soap bubbles when you ate questioned in the least about any of them. The thing is - - I am not the most organized person in the world. My indexing system is terrible and the best way to research a blog topic I've discussed you want to know about is just to- - get lucky and find it. Or maybe I'll bring it up again. But also sometimes I do a whole thing without notes because "the message" has already been imprinted in my mind. And occasionally I'll do what I refer to as "add backs" where I'll remember something in this "presentation" I forgot to include and stick it in. One of those "bits that I left up town". The thing is that too many people when something unusual happens to them- - will change their original story over the years to try and goose it up or put out a product that Sells better. I don't do that. In fact if I said something like the UFO abduction "missing time thing" in late September of 1986, the best way to get the skinny on that is to go back to the earliest source where I record it. It's one of the first topics I raised with you people when I first got into blogging in the latter part of April of 1986. Sometimes things you didn't know at the time become Known - - later on. That's a different issue. But I hate it when you hear a person gradually "evolve his story" to try and win an argument or make a point- - like the Tea Party people do with events in American History, where it isn't "American History" per se they are interested in recapturing at all but rather just another propaganda tool- - to win the next political contest.
I'd like to kick this off with the "third paragraph" right now. You know there is a lot of talk about how valuable and insigntful our nightly dreams can be. So in that spirit I'd like to open with two dreams I had in the wee morning hours that mean absolutely nothing. One was I was playing with Zachery when he was still a little boy around five or so in a swimming pool. And I was riding him on my shoulders and all that. And one time I couldn't find him in the pool and then I looked at a shadow on the water and glanced up and Zachery was standing on my shoulders, and I of course was worried he might fall and injure himself because at the time I was kind of close to the side of the pool. Of course now as you know that Zachery is incarnated as Valerie Shoffner, who would be a 52 year old woman who had led an "interesting' life. Stewart of course denied that Valerie and Zachery were the same "soul" or person in June of 2005 but then Bones later recanted his position on this and said he was just plain wrong and that they were the same. As to the thing about referring to Stu as "Bones", Jim Morrison was the most regular in calling Stu "Bones" in personal conversational references. But I have also been doing that a lot- - - perhaps encouraged by the fact Jim did it. But since Johnny Cash died, Cash also began calling Stu "Bones" because he heard he was called that and adopted that nickname too because 'It just seemed to fit him". Johnny Cash was the other person who was for USC last night. I'm not going to engage in Shottenfreude by gloating about the Oregon victory. USC put up a valloient come back, and I'm not denying that one bit and would like to see more of the game. The other dream I had last night was how I was riding in my car when my parents and others in the car were driving to San Diego. But we were taking a different rout through a lot of "interior canyons' and the scenenery was interesting with a lot of Bryce Canyon type formations and stuff. And after we were riding about four or five hours I asked my Dad how come it was taking so gosh darned long to get there and he explained what he was doing. And I remarked, "With all the time it's taken we could have traveled down virtually every canyon in San Diego county". Of course I knew something was wrong because we never saw the ocean. "I know they well - - - a servicable villian" courtessy KLOS.
There are said to be three major Chinese curses. One is "May you get everything you want". We may have heard that one. Personally I'm not like Chuck Smith. If I pray for something I know whereof I speak. I'm not going to ask for something and then say I didn't want it when I get it. Leave that kind of flakiness to others. The next one is "May you come to the attention of someone in high authority". You can see the double edged potential of that one. The third is "May you live in Interesting Times". They say the Chinese pictogram for "crisis" also means "oppertunity". They're playing "Ticket to Ride' right now, which supposedly about Hamburg prostitutes that strike it rich, when Americans put down anchor in their Town. I think the term in Federation lingo is kind of like "Full Schollarship" like Pink got when he learned he could do the whole dual body thing- - and have a whole shadow song writing carrier nobody else even knew about to reveale other as yet not knows aspects of his personality.
